Part one: the information
1. Who is responsible
EU Building Partners s.r.o. publishes this site and decides how the information described here is handled. Registered address: Tvrdého 643, Letňany, 199 00 Praha 9, Czech Republic. Company number: 28943309. VAT number: CZ28943309. Email: info@quietlogic.online. Where this policy says what is done with information, it is EU Building Partners s.r.o. doing it.
2. The framework we work to
Personal information connected with this site is handled in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, which the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner publishes at oaic.gov.au/privacy/australian-privacy-principles. References below to APP numbers are references to those principles.
3. What this policy covers
It covers quietlogic.online only. Following a link from this site takes you to a site run by someone else, including the World of Warships site reached through our affiliate links, and those sites have their own privacy policies which govern what they do. We have no control over them and do not adopt them.
4. Everything that is collected
(a) Access logs. Our hosting provider records, for each request to the site, your IP address, the date and time, the URL requested, the referring page where your browser sends one, and the user-agent string identifying your browser and operating system. This happens at the server level and is ordinary web hosting behaviour.
(b) Email you send us. If you write to info@quietlogic.online we receive your email address, your name if you include one, the content of your message and any attachment. Please do not send health information, financial details or other sensitive information: we do not need it, and anything of that kind that arrives is deleted once it is clear it is not needed to answer you.
(c) The font request. The site's typefaces are served by Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser requests a stylesheet and font files from Google, and Google receives your IP address as part of that request, as it would for any file requested from any server. Google's handling of it is described at policies.google.com/privacy.
(d) Nothing else. There is no form, search box, comment field, quiz, newsletter, account or chat on this site. No cookies are set. No local storage, session storage or similar technology is used. There is no analytics package, no advertising tag, no social media widget, no profiling and no cross-site tracking. We do not buy information about visitors from anyone.
5. Reading anonymously (APP 2)
You do not need to identify yourself to read anything here, and nothing on the site asks who you are. If you write to us, you may use a pseudonym or an address that does not carry your name, and we will answer it. The one exception is a request for access to or correction of personal information: there we need enough to be satisfied the information is yours, because handing it to the wrong person would be the greater harm.
Part two: what happens to it
6. Why each category is held
Access logs are held to keep the site secure, to identify and prevent abuse such as automated attacks, and to diagnose faults when a page fails to load. Email is held to read and reply to what you sent. The IP address Google receives exists so that the font files can be delivered to your browser. Those are the only purposes.
7. How long each category is kept
Access logs are kept for 30 days and then deleted or overwritten in the ordinary course by our hosting provider. Email is kept for 24 months after the last message in the conversation, after which it is deleted, unless it is needed in connection with a legal claim, in which case it is kept until that is resolved. The data Google receives for the font request is retained under Google's own policies and periods, which EU Building Partners s.r.o. does not control or have visibility of; those are described at policies.google.com/privacy.
8. Use and disclosure (APP 6)
Information is used only for the purpose it was collected for, as set out in section 6. It is never sold, rented, traded, or shared with anyone for marketing. It is not used to build a profile of you. It would be disclosed to a court, regulator or law enforcement body only where the law requires that disclosure, and only to the extent required.
9. Direct marketing (APP 7)
We do not send direct marketing. There is no mailing list, no newsletter and no promotional email of any kind, and your address is not added to anything by writing to us. If you email us, you receive a reply to your message and nothing further.
10. Who else is involved
Three organisations are involved and no others: our hosting provider, which operates the servers and keeps the access logs; our email service provider, which operates the mailbox at info@quietlogic.online; and Google, which serves the fonts. None of them is given information for any purpose of their own beyond providing those services.
11. Information going outside Australia (APP 8)
Our hosting provider and our email service provider may store or process data outside Australia, and the location depends on the facilities they use. Google may process the font request in the United States and in other countries where it operates. By using this site you should assume that the limited information described in section 4 may be handled outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to use providers that handle information in a way consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles, and we do not send any other information overseas.
12. What happens when you follow an affiliate link
Some pages carry paid affiliate links to the World of Warships site. Following one takes you off quietlogic.online immediately and directly, and from that moment the destination site and the affiliate network that operates the link are handling your visit under their own policies, which may include cookies or similar technology on their own domains to record that the referral came from here. We do not control that and cannot switch it off. EU Building Partners s.r.o. receives commission reports from the network. Those reports are used only to reconcile payments, and we do not ask for, and do not want, information that identifies individual readers.
13. Security (APP 11)
The site is served over HTTPS. There is no database behind it and no submitted content is stored on it, because there is nothing to submit. The hosting account and the mailbox are protected by access controls and are reachable only by people working for EU Building Partners s.r.o. who need them. No certification or standard beyond this is claimed.
14. If something goes wrong (data breaches)
If we become aware of unauthorised access to or disclosure of personal information, we assess it promptly. Where it is likely to result in serious harm, we notify the people affected and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
15. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the effective date at the top is updated. Where a change is material, a note saying so appears at the top of this page for 30 days. We do not apply a changed policy retrospectively to information already deleted.
Part three: your rights
16. Keeping information accurate (APP 10)
The information described here is factual and limited, but if something we hold about you is wrong, tell us and we will correct it. That applies to anything in email correspondence as much as to anything else.
17. Access and correction (APP 12 and APP 13)
You may ask what personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. Email info@quietlogic.online with "Privacy request" in the subject line. There is no charge for making a request. We reply within 30 days. If we cannot give you what you ask for, we explain why in writing. Note that access logs are identified by IP address only and are kept for 30 days, so in practice there may be nothing left to give you.
18. Complaints
If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, write to info@quietlogic.online and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can take the complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au/privacy/privacy-complaints, which explains the process and what it can consider.
19. Children
This site is not directed at people under 16. It does not collect information intended to identify anyone, and it has no way of knowing a visitor's age because it asks nothing. If a parent or guardian believes a child has sent us personal information by email, write to us and we will delete it.
20. If you are in the EU, the EEA or the UK
EU Building Partners s.r.o. is established in the Czech Republic, so the General Data Protection Regulation applies to its handling of personal information. The legal bases are: legitimate interests for keeping access logs and for delivering fonts, those interests being the security and correct functioning of the site; and taking steps at your request, together with our legitimate interest in answering correspondence, for email you send us. No processing relies on consent, because this site sets no cookies and uses no tracking.
Where the GDPR applies to you, you have the right to access your personal data, to have it rectified, to have it erased, to restrict processing, to data portability where it applies, and to object to processing based on legitimate interests. Requests go to info@quietlogic.online. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Ours is the Office for Personal Data Protection in Prague (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů), uoou.gov.cz.
21. How to contact us about privacy
Email info@quietlogic.online, or write to EU Building Partners s.r.o., Tvrdého 643, Letňany, 199 00 Praha 9, Czech Republic. Email reaches us considerably faster, and a subject line beginning with "Privacy request" is routed correctly.
