What this site is for
Quiet Logic answers practical questions about desktop games for readers in Australia. Each answer starts with the shortest useful version, then explains what usually causes the problem, then gives the steps that cost nothing, and only after that discusses whether buying anything would help. The order is deliberate: most of what is sold as a fix for a game problem repeats something the computer can already do.
The site is not run by any game publisher, is not a news outlet and does not publish personal accounts of anyone's experience. It is a reference, written in general terms, maintained by the company named below.

The editorial method
How questions are chosen
Questions come from the phrasing people actually use when something has gone wrong: a game that closes immediately, a download that crawls, a code that will not redeem, a charge nobody recognises. A question earns a place when it recurs across several games rather than describing one version of one title, because version-specific answers stop being true quickly and belong on the publisher's own support pages.
How answers are checked
Technical explanations are written to hold across desktop games generally and are tested against the behaviour the explanation predicts. Anything that depends on a specific game is written as an instruction to check that publisher's pages rather than as a fact repeated here. Anything that depends on Australian law, a government body or a complaints process is linked directly to the body concerned, so you can read the source rather than our summary of it. Where a figure would date, it is left out instead of being invented.
How often
Answers and the links in them are reviewed quarterly, and the date of the most recent review appears in the footer of every page. The current review date is 7 October 2026. Pages are also revised whenever a reader points out an error, which is the fastest route to a correction and one reason the contact address is a plain mailbox rather than a form.
What we do not do
- No reader stories, testimonials, quotes or ratings. The questions are written as common questions and are not attributed to anyone.
- No statistics, test results or benchmarks of our own. We have not run any, so we do not cite any.
- No diagnosis of your device. Nothing here can see your computer, and any page that claims otherwise should be treated with suspicion, including pages elsewhere.
- No urgency. If an answer is right today it will be right next week, and nothing here depends on you acting quickly.
How the site is funded, stated plainly
EU Building Partners s.r.o. has a commercial relationship with one of the products mentioned on this site. World of Warships runs an affiliate programme, and the links to it on this site are paid affiliate links: when a reader follows one and creates and activates an account, the affiliate network that operates the link pays this company a commission. That is the entire revenue model. There is no advertising, no sponsorship of individual answers and no paid placement sold to anyone else.
The separation that matters is between that commission and the content. Questions are chosen because readers ask them, not because they create an opportunity to mention a product. Answers that conclude with "nothing to buy here" outnumber the ones that mention a product at all, and several answers advise against purchases that are commonly marketed for the problem described. Where the affiliate product is genuinely irrelevant to a reader, as it is for anyone running Linux, the answer says so rather than leaving it ambiguous.
The affiliate disclosure sets this out in full, including what the commission does not influence and what does decide the content.
The limits of what you will find here
This is general information, not professional advice. It does not replace a repair technician, your internet provider, a game publisher's support team or an Australian government body, and several answers end by pointing you to one of those on purpose. Nothing here is legal or financial advice. Product details, system requirements and promotional terms change without notice, and the vendor's own pages are always the authority on their own products.
